The SCHOTF3CB Viper Out-the-Front Assisted Opening knife from Schrade is super fast and well made. This OTF spring assisted automatic knife features a 3.5 inch double-edge spear point recurve blade with a black finish. To deploy the blade, simply push on the slider near the base of the handle to get the blade moving and the spring assist mechanism will take it the rest of the way. To retract the blade, release the lock and pull down on the slider to lock it back in place. It is assisted automatic deployment and manual retraction. This Schrade 3rd Generation Out-the-Front Assist model has a safety mechanism on the side which takes a little getting used to, but the knife is truly awesome and impressive. The tough handle is made of dark gray finished aluminum with a locking safety mechanism, pocket clip and glass breaker. It is assisted automatic deployment and manual retraction.
