The Bark River Kephart 4 inch is based on the original version of this famous knife of the same name that was offered by the only firm that ever made a production version of the knife in the early 1900s. Colclesser offered a longer bladed version in addition to the standard 4 inch model that most of us are familiar with. The Kephart spear point design is the basis for the modern bushcraft knife that has become the world standard in wilderness living pattern knives. This version is made from Crucible CPM-3V tool steel for its added toughness and edge holding. Bark River Knives also made this version in thinner stock – like Kephart’s original design which reduced the overall weight of the knife by almost two ounces. With the quality of steel and the faster and lighter feeling in the hand, this will prove to be the ultimate recreation of one of America's original outdoor knives.
Bark River specializes in cutting tools for outdoorsmen and others who need real performance in the field. They use a blend of traditional/contemporary designs and styles to get a product that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also ultra-functional.
