One of the nice things about this brush is it didn't smell like a wet badger when I first used it, which I understand is a common drawback of such brushes. Another nice feature; this brush uses the more coarse hairs from the badger. Many "super premium" badger brushes will try to sell you on the soft fur they use, but IMO, coarser hairs make for a better shave.
Everyone should use a shaving brush. Shave cream is a rip-off. This brush works so much better. Once you try it you'll never go back to the more modern/expense shaving methods.

Colonel Conk 1016 Best Badger Shave Brush, Cream Handle 4.125 Inches Tall, England. This fine quality brush comes from PROGRESS (VULFIX) LTD, located on the historic Isle of Man, in the Irish Sea, a self governing Crown dependency. Made using traditional and time honored processes; hand selection of only the finest quality boar bristle and badger hair, individually weighed, shaped and hand knotted. Badger hair varies in quality from the FINEST WHITE/SILVER TIPPED "SUPER BADGER", to the slightly darker brown tipped hair and the blackish color, slightly coarser hair. I've been using shaving brushes for over twenty years so I know a good one. This is a good reasonable priced brush. The badger hairs are soft and workable and give an excellent lather. I've had larger brushes and smaller ones and this is about in the middle or smaller. Some tips since they can be expensive be sure to treat it carefully. You need a brush stand to air dry with bristles facing down after every use and light pressure when applying lather. The bristles will eventually break and fall out of the brush so be easy on it. My old ones have lasted for years and if you treat this one carefully should last the same. I should add the Kingsly on this site for about the same price is of equal quality.
