The Urban Lightweight Pocket Knife from Spyderco is the perfect knife for big city dwellers, the Urban Lightweight is the latest evolution of the original Urban. The Urban knife is a member of Spyderco's Slipit family of non-locking knives which means the blade doesn't lock open. As a member of the SLIPIT family, it provides the advantages of clip carry and one-hand opening, but with a socially friendly non-locking mechanism. The non-locking pocket knife has grown in popularity in large part because of ever tightening legislation regarding permissible knives in large metropolitan areas.

The Urban has a leaf-shaped blade that is fully-flat ground from N690CO stainless steel for outstanding edge geometry and features an index-finger choil to help prevent unintentional closure during use. It also has a double detent which stops the blade halfway through the closing process for safety purposes. True to its name, the Urban Lightweight features a textured, fiberglass-reinforced-nylon handle that keeps it feather light while still providing a full, secure grip. The blade has notching, or jimping at the index choil and on the spine thumb ramp which gives the user excellent blade control. A reversible deep-pocket wire clip completes the package, offering convenient tip-up carry on both sides of the body.
