The Outback Bowie features a forged, dual heat treated 440C stainless blade honed to a razor sharp edge. This big bowie knife is reminescent of the Bowie knife carried by Crocodile Dundee. The back retains some spring to it while the edge has been made hard enough to withstand hundreds or thousands of cuts with no perceptible dulling. This is not a wall hanger - Down Under Knives set out to create the most devastatingly effective Bowie knife ever produced, and designed every detail like they meant it. Hack, slash, chop, cut, crush... This is one blade that will never let you down. Down Under Knives believes in putting our money where their mouth is, so they back their claim with a full five-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
The handle is skillfully crafted out of genuine ebony, leather and brass with an ultra-strong tang that will not twist or break in heavy use. The solid, bead blasted brass handguard and pommel complete the distinctive look.
The Outback™ is truly both a great example of the knifemaker's art as well as the most rugged, dependable tool an outdoorsman could wish for. The Outback™ comes with a genuine heavy leather sheath patterned to resemble crocodile skin. The sheath features an integral retaining boot for the included high quality sharpening spike.

Down Under knives are just great. I own the Outback, The Mistress and The Toothpick and all three have a perfect fit and finish. It's amazing this brand is not well known by knife collectors.

Well constructed, beautifully finished and a joy to hold. Cant believe this knife is so inexpensive considering all the relevant elements. From the high, stainless steel shine to the handling comfort; not forgetting the well made sheath and overall presentation, I would absolutely recommend this Croc Dundee Bowie Knife to anyone. You Down Under Outback guys have made an impeccable piece to enjoy forever.

I bought mine many years ago for £100. It's seen some serious abuse, batoning, chopping etc and it's still as pristine as the day I bought it. Not my best knife, or most expensive but it's still one of my favourites.

These are awesome Crocodile Dundee replicas with a super thick blade, very sharp edge, surprisingly well balanced. Ill be honest with you, I am surprised they can make this knife so inexpensively.
I cannot say how well the blade will holds its edge, as I have not put it through rigorous testing. I honestly doubt that most people who buy this knife would ever use it (it is display quality), but it did slice a piece of paper in half like a razor out of the box. Sharp enough for me.

A genuine working knife, very well made, very sharp, extreme edge retention, beautiful craftsmanship. Look no further, this is the outdoorsman Bowie you want! Comfortable and well balanced.

Beautiful knife! Heavy and solid! Great quality!

This bowie is definitely tough as hell and well worth of price imo.

Down Under makes a great high quality bowie knife. I was glad to find the Outback as the Crocodile Dundee style of bowie knife is something I have desired to get for a long time. For a knife that is produced in Taiwan and very little knowledge of the history of the Down Under knife company available I had concerns. Rough Rider pocket knives are from China and the quality is high. I have 2 outbacks now. I would like more info on the Down under company as I plan to buy more knives from them in the near future.

The sharpening spike is a round file, it will not sharpen the blade to good. So I shaped it into a leather punch, the knife is worth the price too. A great knife!

OsoGrandeKnives is a great site with great customer service. The Outback Knife is beautiful! Well made, great weight, nice big blade, but, if you're not willing to put the same effort into the sheath then don't sell it with one. The sheath is junk. Cheap, plastic feeling leather that was so hard and rough it started leaving scratches on the blade every time in went in or out. Buy this knife! Then immediately throw the sheath away and make your own or pay someone to make one that looks and feels as good as The Outback.

This is a well-made and impressive knife. The finish is very good, and the full tang should give many years of service.

Ok so here we go. I'm gonna say that Oso Grande is the best site for this kind of thing because they have great customer service. So lets take a look at the sheath. It is great looking seems to have a paint over the leather on the front. I think it looks good but its personal preference. But the stiching is good too. The edges are glued in some areas around the stiching. The blade is really well finished with great utility for use in the field because of its length. Full tang. Its a stick tang like a Ka-Bar. But I would say its safe to baton with. Its handle is very nice the leather strips that make the handle are great. It is very comfortable. There seems to be no places of irritation in heavy use. The sharpening spike is a joke because of the fact that the sheath holds its so tight. And the fact that its so small. Or looks small compared to the knife. Lol I think you could probably use the hell out of it if you need to, it will get you by in a pinch but I would prefer a stone. But my only complaint is that I want another one but don't have enough money. This is an awesome knife and the company has a great customer service staff and I stand behind their product 100 percent. Thank you osogrande!!!

I love my Down Under Bowie knife. I collect knives of all types but right now the Down Under is my favorite. The blade is sharp and is a good weight. The handle is beautiful and has a good sturdy feel to it. I love the good looking sheath. I keep this knife with me most of the time. It really gets some good comments. I am very satisfied with it.
Dan Klosinski on 10/29/2012 12:48pm
I received my Outback Bowie today and it has no working edge at all. It will not cut paper or anything else. My wall mounted Gil Hibben 2011 Gold Damascus Eclipse Bowie, which is not intended to be a working knife, is sharper. Oso is at lunch now so I do not know if it is suppose to be like this (doubt it), or if I need a replacement.

This is pretty much a heavy-duty replica of the Crocodile Dundee knife in the movie. The two are so similar it can't be a coincidence. I'm going to say this is probably one of the best all around knives I've ever owned (and I own quite a few premium blades). Its got a great blade for chopping and cutting. The sheath is excellent and looks great it is a little tight to begin with but it loosens up over time. Overall, this is a fantastic knife and Oso Grande had the best price and fast shipping.

Very nice big bowie. This perfect outback knife is excellent for my collection of western style bowies. It is very stout and solid and is a useful big knife that you can trust it in wild.
