Faithful to Kephart's original design and a very handy size for belt or emergency/field kit.
I'm a knife nut and collector and I've had so many knives of varying shapes and blade styles and thicknesses and am so glad I found this knife, which I enjoy more than any knife i've ever used. It fits perfectly in the hand, the blade is the most useful thickness for doing anything, from slicing tomatoes to assorted bushcraft tasks in the woods. As fixed blades go, this is in a very unique class in how primitive but right it is. Some sort of relationship is formed when using this knife, like it was made for you personally, and it's hard to find anything like that.
It is easy to over look, so I'm just here to say, don't. The only way this knife could have been better is by upping the price to over a hundred with some world class carbon steel and wood. As it currently stands, this is super affordable, and absolutely durable. I think one of the biggest selling points is that the knife is only 4 oz. Ultra-lighters, if you want a fixed blade, here's one to connect with.

The design of the Kephart is simple and practical. This has become one of my favorite knives and I'm not afraid to use it! It's not a beautiful piece of shiny cutlery, it's a rough and tough knife that will be the first thing you grab for when you need to get down and dirty. One big thing for me about knives is the grip. And I love the way the Kephart fits into my hand. Anyone with small to medium size hands will appreciate the smooth round grip here. The heavy leather sheath is very nice and holds the knife securely. It will not fall out if turned upside down. Can't say enough good things about the Kephart.
