Used for: shaving wood for tinder, batoning, cutting small branches, camp cooking (cutting onions, sausages, meat), whittling.
Hand size: average (wear Lg size work gloves)
Review: I love this knife. It feels great in the hand, it's sharp and easy to sharpen. I hate all things plastic, so I love the wood handle. It has little marks where I've beat the hell out of it, adding character. Price is perfect. Dark leather sheath means I can wear it in town w/out drawing attention. Thinking about getting the mini as gifts for my nephews.

The Condor Bushlore is made in El Salvador and it is ideal for a general purpose sheath knife. It has a nice comfortable full tang handle and a blade that is thick enough but not too thick and an ideal blade length for it's purpose. The carbon steel is hard enough to take and hold a good edge but not so hard as to be difficult to sharpen or brittle. The knife fits in the sheath nicely and is a compact easy to carry package.
The sheath is a pocket type similar to the ones used by Native Americans and outdoorsmen for generations. The knife fits snugly and the sheath made of high grade leather is perfect. The belt loop will take a wide belt.
The handle scales are made of some sort of dark hardwood that looks like walnut but most likely grew in El Salvador. They are held on by two brass pins and a lanyard tube. The handle has a few cosmetic imperfections but it fits my hand perfectly. For me the ergonomics couldn't get any better. The modest half guard should keep my fingers off the blade and the expansion at the rear will help me keep my grip. If I feel the need I can add a lanyard anytime I want to. The hole is there. I'm rubbing a bit of mineral oil into the wood to repel water and make it easier to keep clean.
The spear point blade is about the right length to balance the handle. They sharpened as much of the blade as practical. While I'm not a big fan or mora/scandie grinds normally speaking this one has the shoulders pushed back just the right amount and I consider it to be a non issue.
