Buck's Folding Hunter was created in 1963 when Al Buck decided that a revolutionary folding locking knife was needed by outdoorsmen who wanted a sturdy knife but did not want to carry a long fixed blade knife. He was right and the result proved to be the key to the company’s future.
One of America’s best-selling knives is now available as an automatic! The 110 Auto is easily deployed with the push of a button, readying the 420HC blade quickly and efficiently. Featuring the same classic Ebony wood handles and brass bolsters, the 110 Auto will easily become a collectible for avid 110 fans.
As originally introduced in the 1960s the 110 once again features a genuine ebony hardwood handle. This ethically sourced Crelicam ebony supports replanting efforts in the Congo Basin rainforest, while providing Buck Knives with a genuine hardwood handle that is nearly indestructible. The included leather sheath is made in Mexico
*Please note: When Buck makes handles out of natural products, you will find nature's own "brandmarks." In most cases, these markings are not flaws, rather nature's own design. Colors and markings will vary from handle to handle. Each one will have its own personality and distinctive look unlike handles created from man-made materials.*
420HC STEEL: 420HC is Buck's standard blade material because it approaches the wear resistance of high carbon alloys while delivering the corrosion resistance of chromium stainless steels. Add Buck's exclusive heat-treat process and you have a very user-friendly combination of superior corrosion resistance with excellent strength for wear resistance and durability. You also have a blade that is easy to resharpen. For best performance Buck hardens to a Rockwell hardness of 58-60HRC.
Clip Point Blade: The crescent tip of a clip point blade makes the blade thinner with a sharper point. This shape provides good control for detail work and cutting in tight places. It is also well suited for intentional punctures like new holes in your belt, etc. While the point of the blade is effective for detail work, it's not as strong as the thicker points on drop points and skinners.
Taking a century’s worth of knife craftsmanship to an unprecedented level, Buck’s Pro Level knives are designed and crafted to be used in the most demanding situations. Premium materials and revolutionary designs are combined with the highest quality American craftsmanship. The result is a superior knife that discerning users can rely on in any situation. Designed and hand-crafted in the USA.
