The Boker Smatchet 2.1 is an updated edition of the famous classic from Col. Rex Applegate. The Smatchet combines the characteristics of the legendary combat daggers with the components of psychological warfare, introduced primarily by the Khuris, the oversized combat knives of the Nepalese Ghurka troops. The result is a more than impressive knife that will muster extreme respect from any opponent. But the Smatchet is of course also designed for peaceful purposes and is exceedingly suited as a multi-functional outdoor tool. But it is most importantly a collector's item that should not be missing in any high-end knife collection. In contrast to previous versions, Boker took advantage of the opportunity on the Smatchet 2.1 to make several improvements - of course without changing the original design from Col. Rex Applegate. The blade steel was converted from 4034 to the modern, cobalt-alloyed Böhler N690. This dramatically improved edge-holding and blade strength. The stonewash finish improves corrosion-resistance and gives the knife a modern outdoor feel. The handle scales are fabricated on a CNC mill from solid billets of black canvas mircata. This significantly improves the grip and handling, primarily in wet conditions.
