My girlfriend ordered this for me as a gift, and I couldn%u2019t be more pleased. I strongly considered the overly expensive Swiss made axes, and I%u2019m here to say I%u2019m so glad I didn%u2019t! I have now single handedly ( pun intended ) split way more than a chord of wood, Whittled, carved, trimmed. This axe is beautiful in its quality and ability to deliver exactly what you expect a good axe to. If you are hesitant, don%u2019t be. I was a bit skeptical and took the leap of faith, what I received is a beautiful tool. Super sharp out of the box, completely joined with no gap or space anywhere, perfect handle grain. Worth it in every way!

Best hatchet out there for the money. Great steel and came very sharp but did touch it up in a spot or to with file then multiple stones to get it shaving sharp just because of my ocd about my cutting tools being razor sharp. Handle is acceptable and really a luck of the draw on grain orientation but other than that a decent hickory handle. These are made in S. America and the handles do dry out considerably after getting in our drier climate. To prevent a known small issue of the head getting loose I soaked the top head of the head in boiled linseed oil for a few days then giving it 3-4 coats.
I love everything about this little axe. My only complaint which is why I gave it 4 stars is that it should come with a sheath or cover.

Great axe for the money!
This axe is well made, the handle feels great in hand, the head is sharp and easy to keep sharp. The handle has a hole where I attached a nice leather lanyard. Great price too!
It may be the best in-expensive axe there is. The shape of the handle is nice and gives a good grip. It is sharp out of the box and the fit and finish are nice as others have stated.
Great camp axe for the price. It fits perfect on the outside of my backpack. Made in El Salvador in the tradition of the Scandinavian axes which are some of the best axes in the world.
The handle has a great feel in your hands and the balance is great also. You can't go wrong with it or with oso grande.
This is a high quality, carefully designed, hand forged head with a nicely grained, unfinished handle. It takes and holds an edge well, and is sized for adults. Order one, oil the handle, make a sheath, and head to the woods.
I was hesitant initially. Marbles has always been a quality brand name. The Marbles camp axe is an axe that I have wanted for some time so I decided to give the "El Salvador" Marbles a chance. I have to say that I am very happy. the quality, fit and finish are all excellent. The grind is even and smooth. I would recommend this item.
I am really impressed with the great design and the quality of this little axe. The handle has an excellent fit to the handle and the orientation of the hickory handle is spot on perfect. This tool should easily last well beyond my lifetime.
