Had mine for awhile, great blade, love S30V, there's alot of talk of these being hard to open when new, they are stiff at first, Gerber could certainly do a better job in production. [THEY MAY HAVE FIXED THE LATER PRODUCTION RUNS] i polished the black coating off the surface that contacts the tension spring with some fine emery cloth, and after polishing, it opened smoothly, otherwise it will break in with time. also there's no gimping where your thumb rests on the handle, which doesn't feel right since i'm used to all my other knives that do, so i grabbed my Gerber multi-tool, cut some into the handle with the serrated blade, and V'd them wider with the file. great mod for this knife improves the grip for sure and looks good. they should have done it for us. a good knife with a little tweaking.

This is an AWESOME knife! I've had mine about a year. At first it was hard to open I couldn't open it unless I used both hands. This was my first assisted opening knife and I later learned the proper opening technique. It also needed to be broken in. I would unlock it, and manually slide the blade back and fourth when I was sitting around. Sure enough in about a day the knife was flipping open and closed with ease.

This knife came RAZOR sharp, so that was a plus. I carry this bad boy every where with me. It's great steel, a great handle and it's AMERICAN MADE!
